About Etsu Restaurant

Authentic Japanese Restaurant

About

Hi my name is David Abe and I am the owner of Etsu Japanese Restaurant, Liverpool.

With the help and support of my wife and Japanese father my aim is to bring you authentic Japanese food.
I believed for a long time that Liverpool was falling behind as most other major cities have numerous Japanese Restaurants. In Liverpool they were virtually non existent and so after 18 months in planning we finally opened Etsu.
In order to achieve our goal of making Etsu as authentic as possible we acquired ourselves two highly trained chefs from Japan and brought them to Liverpool for the roles of Head/Sushi Chef and Kitchen Chef at Etsu.

We are really pleased we were able to secure them as they bring over 40 years of experience between them and having come direct from Japan they have also brought both the old and the new tastes with them.
I really do hope you enjoy your experience with us and please feel free give any feedback you might have to what we believe is a growing and evolving Restaurant.

Awards

Restaurant of the year for 2008 - liverpool.com

''But, this year, our restaurant of the year award goes to, in our opinion, the most exciting restaurant launch of the year, Etsu, The Strand: in this city, we've never had sushi so good. Nor, for that matter, service. Wonderfully inventive (and authentic) Japanese food, served, swifly and smilingly, to an ever-increasing crowd of devotees''

Toilets
In keeping with tradition the Japanese way, be sure to check out our couple of high tech gadgets located in our toilets. They included one of the first bidet style toilets here in the UK. This type of toilet is very common in Japan and will be sure to be an interesting experience when used for the first time.
We also have the Dyson Airblade hand dryer which claims to be the fastest hand dryer using 80% less energy than conventional hand dryers helping to reduce Etsu’s carbon footprint.
